For the better, we hope.
Deuteronomy 30:15 Look, today I am offering you life and prosperity, death and disaster.
So, here is Moses, leading his people to the promise land at the command of Yahweh. It hasn’t been an easy road. He has put up with a lot. The people, who now seemed content to go back to Egypt, complain, ask him why and constantly question his motives. Now, they are in Moab, and he is, once again trying to get them to tow the line. We have all been in positions that has forced our hand. It makes us feel that we are the heavy, and we are the only ones doing anything that gives glory to God. The problem is that bad habits creep up on us as well, and we must recognize them for what they are, and make the necessary changes.
We all have aspect of ourselves that we wish to improve. Whether it is to lose those extra pounds, get to the bottom of our sadness, or quit smoking, there are battles ahead that we know will make our lives better and our character stronger in the long run. The problem is taking that first step. Oh many of us start out strong (I am guilty of this.), and then we find excuses for not following through. “I don’t have the time.” I am too tired.” “I don’t feel like it.” “I’ll start tomorrow.” (That is the most famous one. I think. :)) We think it is too hard to change, and thus, we forget that God is there to guide us and give us that extra boost. He gives us the tools we need to thrive and grow as His Children, and he gives us each other to lean on in times of need and weakness as well. Until next time, God Bless.
