…what do you see?
Philippians 3:10 …that I may come to know him and the power of his resurrection, and partake of his sufferings by being moulded to the pattern of his death,…
Here we have Timothy, striving to be like Christ in such a way that he doesn’t see himself for who God made him to be. He loved Christ so much that he wants to be like Christ in every way, not live as Christ taught him. He sees in himself imperfections, and strives to fix them in order to be more like Christ.
When you look at yourself in the mirror, what do you see? When you think about what you have done in your life, do you have a list of regrets? Do you find yourself constantly putting yourself down? With the media pressuring our youth to be what they consider perfect, they are constantly under pressure to look better than they are, disregarding that they are beautiful in their own right. No matter what happens in your life, never lose sight of the most important thing of all: God made you the way He wanted you to be. He made you in his image, and he gave you the talents, intellect, and skills that He wanted you to have.
If you are good enough for God, you are good enough for everybody else.
So, the next time you look at yourself in the mirror, look into a magazine and see that skinny person, remember that God loves you for who you are.
Until next time, God Bless.
